Opalion Plastics Limited “Opalion” is committed to protecting the privacy, security and confidentiality of your personal data. This privacy statement describes how we collect and use personal information about you during and after your relationship with us, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Opalion will be what is known as the “Data Controller” of the personal data provided to us. This means that we are responsible for deciding how we hold and use personal information about you. We are required under data protection legislation to notify you of the information contained in this privacy statement.

It is important that you read this notice, together with any other privacy statements we may provide on specific occasions when we are collecting or processing personal information about you, so that you are aware of how and why we are using such information.

What is personal data

Personal data is defined under the applicable law as any piece of information relating to an identified or identifiable living individual (the “data subject”). Personal data may notably relate to (when collected by Opalion for legitimate business purposes), but not limited to:

  • Name and business address of Company
  • Registered Company number, VAT number and bank account details
  • Personal and professional email addresses and telephone numbers of Company contacts, regardless if it is used for personal or professional purposes
  • Professional details including job position
  • Delivery and collection addresses including contact details
  • IP address or similar identification number
  • Business or personal interest required for development of business relationships, etc.

How we will use information about you

We will only use your personal information under the following circumstances:

  • Where we need to perform the contract we have entered into with you
  • Where we need to provide information to you about our products, services and solutions which your Company may need to be aware of in order to help make informed decisions when purchasing our products
  • To help us improve the service we provide
  • Where we need to comply with a legal obligation (e.g. prevention of fraud, HMRC requirements, etc.)
  • Where it is necessary for our legitimate interest and your interests and your fundamental rights do not override these interest
  • To meet internal audit requirements and as part of our business continuity and disaster recovery policy

What we do with your personal data

All the personal data we process is processed by our staff in the UK. However, for the purposes of IT hosting and maintenance, this information may be located on servers within the European Union. No third parties have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so. We have a Data Protection regime in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data.

How long do we keep your personal data

Your data will be held for as long as it is reasonably necessary to do so and in line with our retention schedule. It will also be held for as long as legally required to do so or in line with any specific contractual obligations.

Your data is not shared with any third parties apart from where there is a requirement to do so to enable us to fulfil our contractual obligations.

What are your rights

If at any point you believe that the information we hold on you is incorrect, you can request to see this information and even have it corrected or deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact our Data Protection Officer who will investigate the matter.

If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law, you have the right to raise a concern to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Changes to this Privacy Statement

We reserve the right to update this privacy statement at any time and we will provide you with an updated privacy statement when we make any substantial changes. We may also notify you in other ways from time to time about the processing of your personal data.
